What does “DL” mean?

Note: I’m not referring to the common shorthand for ‘Download’.

This probably means “Dual Language” or perhaps “Double Language”. It is found on releases with two audio channels, for example English and German.

eg:
Saving.Private.Ryan.1998.AC3D.DL.1080p.HDTV.h264-CDDHD

Which has English AC3 and DTS and German AC3.

Wenn im Dirname (Releasename) .DL. steht, heisst das, dass dieses Release in der Regel eine deutsche und eine englische Tonspur hat. Das ist fast immer bei 1080p-Release so, teilweise auch bei 720p und DVDR.

Bei Serien-Releases haben fast alle 720p-Releases ebenfalls DL. Allerdings hängt dies stark von der Group ab.

Ein weiterer möglicher Tag ist auch .ML. Releases dieser Art besitzen immer mehr als 2 Sprachen. Meist deutsch, englisch, französisch, spanisch und weitere Sprachen.
