No, RELOADED (rld) is a release group. See the List of Scene Release Groups.

I’ve noticed the FESTIVAL tag popping up recently. I’m assuming it’s regarding the source, but do they mean the normal quality copy that’s being projected, or the low quality (but typically on a dvd already) copy that the translator/subbers work with?

I would have thought that “DVD” or “CD” would be used if it was off a disk. I am not completely sure, but i’d say FESTIVAL meant recorded at the actual festival if i had to guess.

Movie releases, basically. I just remembered that it doesn’t replace the DVDRip tag in all these examples, so it’s probably not indicating the source format. My next best bet would be that it’s akin to the LIMITED tag, just providing some information/explanation about how widely distributed it is. Hm, some movies premier at a festival, so getting a copy then would be really beating the release in most countries. Others I’ve seen have a lot of success in their home country, and thus end up at other international film festivals. *shrugs* Just thinking it’s hard to conclude exactly what your average FESTIVAL tag would be telling you.

TVRip: Recorded from analog TV, lowest quality of all TV rips
DSRip: Recorded from Digital Satellite, good quality rip
PDTV: Recorded from Pure Digital Source, but not HDTV. The quality is similar to a DSRip
HDTV: Recorded from a HDTV source. High video and sound quality. The video resolution is often 624×352, and the audio stream 128kb/s MP3
HR.HDTV: Best Quality There is. Recorded from a HDTV source. The video resolution is often around 960×540 which is half the size of the original HDTV broadcast. A 45 minute show is often 700MB instead of 350MB like the other releases.

I’m pretty sure this is a release group, rather than a definition. I couldn’t say whether they were scene or not.
In all the examples I can find of it, it occurs at the end of the release name, such as “Mariah_Carey-I_Want_to_Know_What_Love_is_Remixes-2009-CDM”.
If you can find some examples where it does not come at the end of the release name, reply and let us know!

PL is a language tag. It means that the release has Polish audio. In your example the movie is dubbed in Polish.
It is also used for actual Polish movies that have no English subtitles available with the release. An example:

These are all language tags I know of in use by the scene. If a foreign release has English subtitles available, it doesn’t get tagged with a language tag. Some languages have a long and a short version. This seems to depend on the scene (e.g. movie, mp3 or game scene) or the release group in question.

The RC often stands for “release candidate”, but not in this case.
“Blu-ray Discs use a much simpler region-code system than DVD with only 3 regions, labeled A, B, and C.
– Region A includes most North, Central and South American and Southeast Asian countries plus the Republic of China (Taiwan), Hong Kong, Japan and Korea.
– Region B includes most European, African and southwest Asian countries plus Australia and New Zealand.
– Region C contains the remaining central and south Asian countries, as well as the People’s Republic of China and Russia.”

What’s the proper way to label a Director’s Cut release?
Which one is it?:
1.) DC
2.) DirCut
3.) Directors.Cut
4.) Dir.Cut
Personally, I think it’s 1.) DC. But I’m not sure considering I’ve seen them all used before…!?
Also, should it go BEFORE or AFTER the release name’s year? Where’s the proper place to put “DC”?

The Xvid standards use DC.
Nothing is said about it in the x264 standards.

OAR: original aspect ratio. The definition according that ruleset: OAR = (SourceWidth-CropLeft-CropRight)/(SourceHeight-CropTop-CropBottom)
It’s the aspect ratio of the video when the black bars are removed.
“Encoded Video resolution must be within 2% of the original aspect ratio.” This is to prevent seeing too wide or too small faces.
REAL: This tag is used when a previous release of an episode was fake. E.g. the release name says it’s s01e07, but actually it was s01e06. So the real episode 7 gets tagged REAL to avoid some confusion.

NATIVE: ( CONVERT) it’s explained in the ruleset itself:
“Native” refers to the standard in which the video was produced (e.g. NTSC or PAL). NTSC produced video is native to NTSC, PAL produced video is native to PAL. PAL produced video that is broadcast in NTSC is converted. NTSC produced video that is broadcast in PAL is converted.”
The tag is mainly used when a previous release was tagged CONVERT.
“Native releases are allowed after those tagged CONVERT. Use NATIVE tag.”
Because the ruleset is pretty new, I haven’t seen a release tagged native yet.

This isn’t really a definition suggestion, but I was wondering if you’d like to do a link exchange with http://sceneinformation.com/ my website.
The site isn’t done (I’m working on pages/downloads relating to keygen music, welcome to the scene and its parodies, and a huge list of scene, p2p, and individual releases along with sample NFO files for each group. Here’s a question, more of wanting an explanation than a definition. The other day IMMERSE pre’d Made.in.Jersey.S01E01.720p.HDTV.x264-IMMERSE. It was then nuked for “possible.analog.source.request.source.proof”. How can they tell? And more importantly, why doesn’t the scene allow analogue sources for television? And the final thing, since many countries are switching from analogue television to digital and giving out those set top boxes where the cable jack in the wall goes to the box and then out the other end into the TV to convert the signal – does that count as an analogue signal still or since it’s converted, it is considered an okay source or no?

They can tell by examining the source sample video file frame by frame. True digital HDTV 1080i and 720p recordings are either interlaced frames that run at 29.97 frames per second or progressive frames running 59.94 fps. Analogue recordings show very different results; typically 1080p which doesn’t happen with digital HDTV or 720p that is only 29.97 fps.

Scene does allow for analogue HDTV now and these are recordings from capture cards versus digital recordings from a tuner card or firewire from the HD set top box to PC installed with a transport stream recording tool.

If the box between the wall outlet and the TV is not a HD box then it’s a digital converter. These convert the digital signal to an analogue signal for coaxial or composite cable connection to the TV set. Recordings from a digital converter box are “TVRip”s and by definition on this site TVRip is the lowest quality of video.

That bar of strict TV scene high standards dropped a little.
And a little more with the addition of the CONVERT tag.

“NTSC produced video is native to NTSC, PAL produced video is native to PAL. PAL produced video that is broadcast in NTSC is converted. NTSC produced video that is broadcast in PAL is converted.” …And goes on about blended frames and artifacts and blablabla.

These blended frames and artifacts can most often be cleaned up well enough and un-converted, so to say, back to their native video. That is if the person doing the encoding knows how to. Next time you check out a video with the CONVERT tag on it try watching frame by frame in a few spots. I am willing to bet there’s a repeating pattern of 3 or 4 ‘clean’ frames followed by 2 ‘blended’ frames. The 3 clean 2 blended or 4 clean 2 blended frame patterns can be cleaned up no problem. However, it’s even easier for the unknowledgeable to slap a lazy CONVERT tag on it to avoid a nuke. I thought understanding 3:2 pulldown and inverse telecine was a prerequisite to scene?

This is just my observation, and I’m not totally bashing on scene as they’ve been there for many years bringing ample amounts of entertainment and information for us, but it almost appears as if the scene of scene has shifted and the wise old dogs are taking a nap on the porch while the new pups run around in the house.

UNRATED means the release is unrated not the theatrical version that was released in the theatres, usually contain scenes that you didnt get to see on the silver screen,

OK I’ll auto answer myself cause I found the answer so if anyone is interested here is the explaination:
“Unrated means the movie has not been rated by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA). Most older unrated movies are just not rated by the MPAA because they are generally PG in content, however newer films are unrated because of excessive gore or violence which would have to be cut in order to obtain a rating.”

DupeNET does not exist anymore AFAIK. If you look at https://pre.corrupt-net.org/?qid=M3F there’s no history for it since corrupt-net started collecting nukes/delpres/pres a year or two ago.
That list of networks you gave is missing a few too since obvious things come and go. Some are more P2P-ish and some not too widespread in the scene with the exception of EthNet since it began earlier this year, but there’s also nukenets like Micro-NET, CNET (aka corrupt-net which is p2p but many public pre database websites and torrent sites echo/store their nukes), scifiNET, CleaNeX, and EthNet as I mentioned.
