When seeing a release tagged with “SE”, one might think it’s a language tag – but it’s not. Instead, -SE- is simply short for Special Edition. In the Standard Definition x264 and XviD rulesets it states the following:
[ Special Movie Editions ]
11.1) Allowed: DC, EXTENDED, UNCUT, REMASTERED, UNRATED, THEATRICAL,
CHRONO, SE (or any other special edition).
The tag is optional and not mandatory. The -SE- tag can also be found in some music releases. Film studios can release special editions of their content for a wide variety of reasons, such as an alternate ending, a longer run time, or some other modifications.Read Full Post | Make a Comment ( None so far )
